A new extension for the Google Chrome browser from Dutch tech company Walter Living aims to give its users a heads-up in the search for a property on the #1 Dutch portal Funda.nl. The extension is named ‘Berap de Broker’ which translates to ‘Catch the Broker’, and works by showing the user if the property they are looking at has previously been on the site and at what price as well as showing any changes in the description of the listing.

Catch the Broker came about to give buyers a clearer picture of the price history of a properties which may have been taken off the portal having been priced incorrectly or had their descriptions changed. According to parent company Walter Living’s Founder Steven van Wel, around 10% of listings on Funda.nl have been uploaded to the portal several times and the company has seen a lot of agent shenanigans around re-listing which it aims to make home-hunters aware of.

Like so many PropTech startups the housing data service Walter Living came about after its founder had a frustrating experience trying to buy a house. As van Wel told Business Insider, the company wants to give a fair picture of a property’s history and give the buyer as much information as the selling agent.
