App that links entry-level candidates to local employers, Employ Me!, has recently taken first place at William Paterson University’s eighth annual Pitch Tank Competition - worth $3,000.

The app was created by Mojahed Hamdeh of Wayne. He goes on to compete at the April 26 U-Pitch NJ (New Jersey’s Collegiate Business Model Competition) event at Seton Hall University, representing William Paterson.

Four students in total won prizes for their ideas in the final round of the competition, a six-month process that included writing a detailed business plan and seeking advice from mentors and professors. Presentations were judged on innovation, need and market, revenue and sustainability, investment requirements, marketing and launch, and perseverance and competence.
